Red Cross Offers Service Vacancies Amid Protests

In the midst of student protests at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP), the Red Cross delegation San Andrés Cholula, represented by Eduardo Márquez, has announced two available positions for social service with prospects for advancement in various areas of health, such as medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, among others. He highlighted the collaboration established with BUAP, where more than 30 interns are carrying out their social service at the Red Cross locations in the region.

Students from various faculties, including Medicine, Dentistry, and Forensic Sciences, continued their strike and marched towards Ciudad Universitaria seeking dialogue with rector Lilia Cedillo Ramírez to present their demands. Other groups of students joined the mobilization, shutting down the facilities of their respective schools in solidarity.

During the march, when crossing 11 Sur, a temporary closure occurred on Bulevar Valsequillo, an important route in the city. There was speculation about the takeover of the Faculty of Medicine facilities by agents from the Puebla Prosecutor's Office, information that was later dismissed by the students themselves.

Amid negotiations between the parties involved and respecting university autonomy, Secretary of Governance, Samuel Aguilar Pal, confirmed he was looking for an agreement. Meanwhile, rector Lilia Cedillo mentioned the presence of "external hands" linked to the student movement, relating them to the leak of internal information from the university known as "buapleaks." In her words, these same hands seem to be involved in the dissemination of confidential information from the institution.
